Trennbare Verben

Separable verbs are made up of a base verb and a prefix (e.g. an-, auf-, ein-, mit-, zurück-). In a main clause, the prefix separates from the verb and moves to the very end of the sentence, while the conjugated base verb stays in second position. Common A1 separable verbs: anrufen (to call), aufstehen (to get up), einkaufen (to shop), anfangen (to begin), mitnehmen (to take along).
